Travel Channel's Hawaiian Escape Marathon

This Friday, October 17, the Travel Channel will present 16 straight hours of Hawaii related programming including five episodes of Samatha Brown's popular "Girl Meets Hawaii" series. We've put together a complete schedule of this Friday's programs including a description of each as provided by the Travel Channel.

01:00 p.m. - Girl Meets Hawaii - Hidden Hawaii - San Francisco and New York have one, but Honolulu has one too! Samantha experiences the sights, sounds and tastes of Honolulu's Chinatown. Hawaii is also home to the world's only known "wholphin"--part dolphin, part whale.

01:30 p.m. - Girl Meets Hawaii - Taste of Hawaii - Lomi Lomi, Poki and Spam.. These, along with chocolate-covered squid, are some examples of what Samantha eats as she travels through Hawaii. She learns about Hawaiian culture by sampling the local food and drink of ancient Hawaiians.

02:00 p.m. - Girl Meets Hawaii - Ultimate Hawaii - Host Samantha arrives in Honolulu and heads for her beachfront hotel on Waikiki Beach. At Makapuu Point, Samantha enjoys the spectacular view and the cleanest air in the world. On the Big Island, the ultimate waterfall awaits.

02:30 p.m. - Great Hotels - W Honolulu Hawaii - For a taste of the high life, Samantha travels to Oahu to visit the "W", the place in Honolulu to see and be seen! At the Kona Village Resort, there are no telephones, no televisions, no radios, no air-conditioning, and cell phone use is limited.

03:00 p.m. - Great Hotels - Princeville Resort - A retreat for the discriminating traveler, the Princeville gracefully hugs the side of a 200-foot cliff which looks down on the white sand beach of Hanalei Bay. Samantha enjoys horseback riding along the island's cliffs and shops for tropical fruits.
