Lest We Forget

"It was 64 years ago that the world as we knew it changed forever. On that sunny Sunday morning the skies of Oahu were filled with airplanes headed to attack the airfields at Wheeler, Hickam, Ewa and Kaneohe, and later Bellows Field. The main target was Pearl Harbor and the ships of the United States Pacific Fleet. In this archived feature we look back on the world prior to December 7, 1941 and trace the events in the world and in Hawaii leading up to the attack. We do this not so as to bring back memories of a time when the world went mad. We do this not to condemn those who attacked us. We do this lest we forget those who died and lest we forget that we must never allow it to happen again. Read more...
