Hilton Will Return to Kauai with the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort

Wednesday March 1, 2006
The 350-room Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort, previously known as the Radisson Kauai Beach Resort, is set to become the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort this summer upon completion of the resort’s $14 million renovation project. The renovation includes extensive property upgrades, as well as the addition of new facilities and services that are standards of the Hilton brand, including a 24-hour business center, executive club floor, Hilton Serenity Collection™ bedding and bath items, expanded fitness center and implementation of the Hilton HHonors® guest reward program.

The hotel will be managed by its ownership company, Anekona Management, under the name Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort until it officially becomes a Hilton, expected to take place in mid-summer. At that time, the resort will begin operations as the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort under a license agreement with Hilton Inns, Inc., the franchise subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based Hilton Hotels Corporation.

The Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation that will imbue the property with a graceful, plantation-style ambiance. "The before-and-after comparison is remarkable," says Gunthner in a press release regarding this license agreement. "The renovation is bringing a richer, more polished look to every aspect of the physical property, from guest room interiors to hallways, elevators, meeting facilities, pools and building exteriors."

The renovation to the Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort is being carried out by award-winning architectural firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo.

The renovation plan includes complete refurbishment of guest room interiors with plush new carpeting, Balinese-style wood entry doors, plantation-louvered closet doors and luxurious travertine marble bath and floors. Each bath will feature the Hilton Serenity Collection? bath items, with the Crabtree & Evelyn line of La Source® bath amenities. Guest rooms will be outfitted with new furnishings including the easy-to-set Hilton Family alarm clock radio with MP3 player connectivity and the Hilton Serenity Bed, which features the Serta Suite Dreams® mattress and box springs, Pacific Coast® down duvet, Super Topper mattress pads, and high-quality linens and pillows. In addition, all guest rooms will offer wireless high-speed internet access. Hallways will be transformed with elegant plantation board and baton wainscoting and new antique brass sconces, creating a softer ambiance.

The resort’s four-pool complex will be enhanced with new quartzite stone decking, the creation of a 12-foot waterfall cascading into the main pool, a flume and lava tube water slide at the sand-bottom pool and a new whirlpool spa set amidst a stone grotto, lush ferns and a waterfall. Meeting and banquet guests will be greeted with a redesign and refurbishment of the ballroom and meeting rooms, including an expanded entry and reception area.

The Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort is a 25-acre deluxe beachfront property centrally located on a three-mile stretch of beach on Kauai’s eastern "Coconut Coast." The property has 350 rooms, seven suites, complete meeting and banquet facilities, three restaurants, a boutique spa and fitness center, and a landscaped pool complex made up of four swimming pools surrounded by waterfalls and grottoes. would sure like to hear more about this property, how the facelift is working out, and how the property compares to other Hilton options such as HHV (oahu) and HWV (big island). really want to visit Kauai but am afraid of this property being so far below the standards of those others. planning to stay on points regardless of which island/hotel I choose, and it must be hilton. THANKS!
