United Airlines Hawaii News - Increased Service and Special Starwood Hawaii Promotion

United announced on May 12 that it will start increased service between Hawaii and the mainland on June 8, to meet strong customer demand. The airline will continue to offer customers the most service between the mainland and Hawaii with two new weekend and three additional daily flights. Additionally, this service increase represents an additional 21 weekly flights to Hawaii compared to last summer, bringing the total amount of weekly summer flights to 227.

As part of this increase, United will launch new weekend service between San Diego and Honolulu, and Seattle and Honolulu. This will give customers the opportunity to fly on United to Hawaii from six mainland cities, which also include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver and Chicago. United will also add three daily flights departing from Los Angeles with service to Lihue, Kona and Maui to complement its five times per day service from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu, and its four times per day service from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Maui.

To meet the needs of its customers, United plans to fill 100 additional positions in Hawaii.

In addition to its existing service between the mainland and Hawaii, United currently offers daily service between Honolulu and Osaka, Japan; and Honolulu and Tokyo, Japan. In 2005, United flew 1.9 million passengers and 99 million tons of cargo to Hawaii.
