New "Travel Pink" Package at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa Supports Fight Against Breast Cancer
Monday September 17, 2007
Following a successful debut last year, the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is once again encouraging guests to travel pink to join the fight against breast cancer and support Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a special room package and exclusive amenity.
The Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Travel Pink package begins at $239 per night, plus tax and is available for stays from September 1 to December 20, 2007. A minimum three-night stay is required and the package is based on space availability. Rates subject to availability and do not include taxes, gratuities or other incidental charges.
And because studies show that women who engage in regular physical activity have an approximately 20 percent lower risk of the disease compared to inactive women, the Hilton is offering an exclusive package amenity that encourages a more active lifestyle.
The amenity is a black sports bag with a custom-designed pink breast cancer ribbon imprint; inside the bag are: a pop-open lid polycarbonate sports bottle, a workout towel, a floral pink breast cancer cloisonné pin; a "Support Breast Cancer Research" bracelet; Mandara Spa bath salts and oatmeal soap; Mandara Spa $20 discount coupon on a spa treatment at Mandara Spa at Hilton Hawaiian Village; Tori Richard $25 gift certificate good for regular-price merchandise at Tori Richard stores in Hawaii (minimum purchase of $100); a certificate for a 20 percent discount at The Rainbow Lanai Restaurant at Hilton Hawaiian Village. (The 18" x 12.5" x 10" sports bag and all of the amenities represent a $75 value).
Room reservations can be made by calling the resort directly at (808) 949-4321 or call toll-free at 1-800-HILTONS (1-800-445-8667) and asking for rate code "P0." You can also visit www.hiltonhawaiianvillage.com/pink.
Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Travel Pink package is a part of the Travel Pink, Travel Oahu initiative sponsored by the Oahu Visitors Bureau.
Member organizations are partnering the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Hawaii to raise funds to aid in breast cancer research, education and treatment.
More than 2.3 million women in the U.S. have survived breast cancer or are living with breast cancer today. Although the numbers of breast cancer diagnoses have increased, the overall breast cancer death rate has significantly dropped since the early 1990s. Advances in detection, diagnosis and treatment have made an impact... but prevention is the key in battling the second-leading cause of cancer-related death in women.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1982 by Nancy Goodman Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan Goodman Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36. Today, the Komen Foundation is an international organization with a network of 75,000 active volunteers working through the more than 100 local affiliates. A global leader in the fight against breast cancer, the Komen Foundation fulfills its mission through support of innovative breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards, educational and scientific conferences and community-based outreach programs around the world.
