Paradise Cove Luau at the Ko Olina Resort

Monday April 7, 2008
When I was invited to be a guest at the Paradise Cove Luau I was somewhat apprehensive. I had previously attended two luaus on Oahu and was extremely disappointed. One was just to touristy and a bit rowdy, the other had poor food and very mediocre entertainment. I was beginning to think that no luau on Oahu could approach the excellent luaus I've found on several of the other Hawaiian islands.

Having now experienced the Paradise Cove Luau, I can say that not only is it the best luau on Oahu, but one of the best I've attended anywhere in Hawaii. It especially impressed me that they are able to accomplish what other Oahu luaus have failed to do, that is host a huge crowd of hundreds of people and do so in a way that you don't feel that you're a lonely cow in the middle of a huge cattle drive.

The best Luau on Oahu (non alcoholic) is at the Polynesian Cultural Center. They have the luau at dinner time and then they have the full on production in the live theater afterwards. So really two shows in one. It’s also a mini Epcot Center of Polynesia so spend plenty of time touring the Villages first.

The best Laua on Oahu (Alcohol Served) is Germains Luau, right outside of Ko Olina. We have a condo in Ko Olina www.beachvillarentals.com and we like this luau better than Paradise Cove. (Paradise Cove is not bad however)
