American Airlines Now to Charge for First Bag

A few weeks ago American Airlines announced that they would be charging $25 for a second checked bag. Today they announced that the first bag checked will cost $15. It's unclear whether the second bag fee will increase even before it takes effect. Here are some other airline fees that have been announced by major carriers:

Seat (not on toilet such as on Jet Blue) $10
Seat with cushion $10
Ice for free drinks $2
Barf Bag $5
Bathroom Fee $2
Friendliness from Cabin Crew - unavailable
Working Air Nozzle $10
Working Buzzer to Call Cabin Crew $10
Trash Disposal Fee (for free snacks) $5
Landing Surcharge $25 (door will open prior to landing for those not wishing to pay)
Passenger Weight Surcharge:
  • under 25 pounds and not gagged $200
  • 25-75 pounds free
  • 75-150 pounds $25
  • 150-200 pounds $50
  • 200-250 pounds $100
  • over 250 pounds $200
