Now is the time to make your plans to attend the 39th Annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival on the Big Island of Hawaii. This year's festival will be held from November 6-15, 2009 at various locations around Kailua-Kona. If you're thinking about visiting Hawaii this fall, this is one event that you should consider making plans to attend.

The award-winning Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is recognized as the oldest and most successful food festival in Hawaii. The 10-day Festival celebrates Kona's special cultural heritage and recognizes the accomplishments of Kona coffee pioneers, farmers and artisans.

The 2009 festival will feature nearly fifty events (many free) including contests, tastings, two parades, a scholarship pageant, farm tours, coffee workshops, art exhibits, an outdoor concert and more.

My wife and I attended a full week of the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival in 2008 and had one of our best weeks ever in Hawaii. Even if, like us, you're not a coffee drinker, there are plenty of activities that are just plain fun. If you are a coffee drinker and especially if you're a fan of Kona Coffee, this festival is your Nirvana.

In this feature, we preview the 2009 Kona Coffee Cultural Festival and then share some of our experiences from 2008 festival events which will also be offered in 2009. I hope you enjoy our nine page photo intensive feature on the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival.
