Don't tell the management of Aqua Hotels & Resorts that we're in a recession. The year 2009 has been a huge year for this relatively new hospitality company in Hawaii.
It seems like every time I turn around I'm reading how they've increased their portfolio of properties which now includes 16 properties in Hawaii - 13 on Oahu and one each on Kauai, Maui and Molokai.
I've stayed at several of their properties and visited several others. What they have accomplished in just a few years in updating these properties and hiring excellent staff is remarkable. Many of their properties offer some of Hawaii's best room rates for thoroughly modern accommodations.
