It was 51 years ago today that Hawaii became the 50th state. As we learned in yesterday's feature, it was not an easy journey.
In the second part of our special feature, which was written last year for the 50th anniversary, we look at the events that took place from 1952 until 1959 including what turned out to be a major complicating factor to Hawaii Statehood in the form of a place called Alaska.
We also look ahead and see why not all of Hawaii's people are celebrating today.
We hope you enjoy the 50th Anniversary of Hawaii Statehood: Part 2 - The Road to Statehood 1952-1959 and Beyond.
