Lava from Kilauea Volcano Flowing Into the Ocean
There is so much to do on Hawaii's Big Island that it's hard to know where to begin. One things for sure, you'll have to visit many times to see and do it all.
I've visited the Big Island many times and I'm always impressed by the wide variety of activities and attractions - with new activities starting all the time. There's something to fulfill the desires of every island visitor.
Of course, no visit is complete without a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park or the neighboring Puna District to see the world's most active volcano, Kilauea. You can travel to the top of the world's tallest mountain Mauna Kea (yes it is) for sunset, or ride horseback in the Valley of Kings, Waipio Valley.
How about a horseback ride on what was once the largest privately owned ranch in the United States, Parker Ranch? If that's not enough there are great hikes, botanical gardens, national historical parks and sites, and great eco-adventures.
I hope you enjoy my picks for the Top Things to Do on the Big Island of Hawaii.
