When I checked into The Westin Maui Resort & Spa this June it had been almost 7 years since I last stayed at the resort. I was a bit apprehensive since my prior stay was a bit of a letdown.
It certainly helped that I found the entire staff to be much more attentive, friendly and, as always, professional. The resort still is a bit restricted by it's space limitations especially when it comes to its self-parking lot. Also when the resort is fully booked, the pool areas can be very crowded, but this is common with many resorts.
That being said I really enjoyed my stay and I found that there were a lot more positive things about the resort that I had missed on that stay many years ago. One of the best things about the resort is the obvious one - it is right on Kaanapali Beach and smack dab in the middle of the Kaanapali Beach Resort next to Whalers Village with its shops and restaurants. They say that Kaanapali is "where the world comes to play" and from what I see on every visit, that's certainly true.
