Like most everything in life, the best things to enjoy about Kauai are free - or at least pretty affordable.
Kauai is called Hawaii's "Island of Discovery" and popularly referred to as "the Garden Island" - both for good reason. Kauai's landscape is an enticing, exciting playground for lovers of the environment, outdoor adventure, and Polynesian culture.
Check out these twelve enjoyable and interesting ways for visitors to experience and enjoy Kauai for free (or nearly free).

I will be in Maui next week. I have read about a Maui Swapmeet. Where is it? Is is only Saturday? Can you recommend a farmers market on Maui also?
I first went here in 1986 with a girl I had met vacationing on Oahu, at Bellows AFS on the northeast side. We flew to Kauai and didn’t want to leave. Kauai is, without a doubt, the nicest Hawaiian island for natural beauty that exists. It’s the place you go when you don’t care about “things to do”. You can drive out to “Little Grand Canyon” or go sit on the beach where the river meets the sea. A precious place… I hope it never changes.
