Go on vacation, head to a beachfront restaurant and then cook your dinner. It's an unusual concept, but it works and works well.
Here, where I currently am in Waikiki, one of my favorite places to eat is at the Shore Bird Restaurant and Beach Bar at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach.
How it works is pretty simple. You are seated at your table, order your drinks and then your entrée. There are some optional side dishes, including the biggest baked potato you've ever seen, but most folks simply take advantage of the great salad bar which includes numerous hot side dishes.
As you work on your salad, your server will bring your entrée, uncooked, to your table. Then you head to the restaurant's large (and very hot) grill and cook it with the help of one of the restaurant's chefs.
So, why do this? First, you'll save up to 50% on what you'd pay for the same meal in most restaurants. Secondly, it's a great social experience as you'll meet all sorts of folks from around the world as you grill your dinner.
You can view their menu and prices on their website. See you there.
