This Beach Was Selected as the 5th Best Beach in America for 2012? Do You Know Where It Is?
If you're like me you look forward to the annual announcement on Memorial Day weekend of Dr. Beach's best beaches in America.
Being selected by Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman aka Dr. Beach, of Florida International University means lots of publicity and bragging rights for each year's winner.
It's no small accomplishment that in the 22 years that the list has been released, twelve Hawaii beaches have been selected as top beach and then retired from all future consideration.
You would think that there's no way Hawaii could come out on top again and, at least for 2012, you'd be right, but out of the ten beaches on this year's list, three are in Hawaii, including the beach chosen as number two this year.

Guide Comment – I really only follow the Hawaii beaches, but both Kahanamoku Beach and Waimanalo made the list in 2011 also. Kahanamoku was at number 3 and Waimanalo was at number 9. In 2010 Kahanamoku was number 6 and Hamoa was number 9. My money would be on Kahanamoku coming in number 1 in 2013.
