The Hawai'i Coffee Book: A Gourmet's Guide from Kona to Kaua'i
Did you know that Hawaii is the only state in the United States where coffee is grown? In fact, coffee is grown on five of the major Hawaiian Islands, the most well known area being the Kona region of Hawaii Island, the Big Island.
As fall is approaching, many visitors are making plans to attend all or parts of the 42nd Annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival which will be held on Hawaii Island this November. Many visitors attending the festival take advantage of the opportunity to visit one or more of the over 600 coffee farms in the Kona region.
Recently I had the chance to review what I consider an essential companion book for anyone planning to visit any of the areas of Hawaii where coffee is grown. In fact, the book will help you plan your visit and help you know everything that you'll see and experience on a farm visit. The book is The Hawai'i Coffee Book: A Gourmet's Guide from Kona to Kaua'i written by Shawn Steiman and published by Watermark Publishing in Honolulu.
I hope that you enjoy my review of the book and that you'll agree that this is one book that any coffee aficionado should pack in their suitcase on his or her next visit to Hawaii.
