If someone were to ask you what time it is in Hawaii, would you know?
I've been visiting Hawaii for almost 20 years and it still takes me a minute or so to figure it out. It's more than a mere mathematical calculation since it's not the same all year round.
Even more embarrassing is that when you're relaxing in Hawaii, it's easy to forget that your friends and family back on the mainland can be quite a few hours ahead of local Hawaii time. More than once I've forgotten and called my wife to share some exciting news or experience well after she's gone to sleep.
When you're in Hawaii time seems to move a bit differently than back at home. The sun doesn't seem to behave the same. One minute it's light and so quickly it's dark.
