As the new year arrives in Hawaii, so do the top professional golfers in the world.
Beginning this week, the best golfers of the PGA and Champions Tour arrive in Hawaii for three tournaments this month. In the spring, the top golfers on the LPGA Tour will also make their way to Hawaii for their only tournament in Hawaii.
It all kicks off with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Maui, featuring the winners of last year's events on the PGA Tour. Next week the men make their way to Honolulu, Oahu for the first full-field event on tour, the Sony Open in Hawaii.
Later in January, the top players on the Champions Tour, formerly known as the Senior Tour, come to Hawaii Island, the Big Island for their season opening event, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai.
Then, in April, the top women in the world will come to the Ko Olina Resort on Oahu to play in the LPGA LOTTE Championship Presented by J Golf.
If your plans take you to Hawaii over the next few months and if you're a fan of professional golf, it's well worth spending a day or two watching the pros play at some of the top golf courses in the United States.
