Every so often I get an email from someone asking whether he or she can bring her dog or cat to Hawaii. I have to admit I'm usually disturbed that someone would really want their pet to spend anywhere between 5-12 hours in the belly of a plane.
Bringing a pet to Hawaii for a standard vacation is a really poor idea. It's not good for the pet and it involves a lot of advance work on your part due to Hawaii's strict animal quarantine law. You can find out exactly what you're up against in our feature Traveling With Pets to Hawaii.
Such, however, is not the case with many other destinations, especially when you're traveling by car or motor home. About.com's Senior Travel Guide, Nancy Parode, has put together a great piece that covers many destinations where your pet will be most welcome.
