Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean VillasBeach, bed & breakfast package now offers fifth night freeThe landmark Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas, situated on a bluff overlooking Maui's acclaimed Kapalua Bay, is continuing its popular "Beach, Bed & Breakfast" package through 2003 with the added
value of a fifth night free. Previously, the package included the sixth night free.
The Beach, Bed & Breakfast package offers a choice of accommodations--from serene Plantation rooms to Deluxe Ocean View rooms, a daily buffet breakfast at the hotel's ocean view Gardenia Court restaurant, and unlimited free beach activity rentals, such as snorkel gear, beach chairs, umbrellas, cabanas and kayaks. The package requires a four-night minimum stay, and every fifth night is free on the 2003 package, which is valid for travel through December 21. The 2003 Beach, Bed & Breakfast package rates are based on double occupancy and range from $360 per night for a Plantation room to $620 per night for a Deluxe Ocean View room. Package rates are subject to applicable taxes. The Beach, Bed & Breakfast program is a particularly good value for families, as children under the age of 12 can be included on the package free of charge when occupying the same room as an adult with existing bedding. (Maximum of four persons per room.) The Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas rests on 18 oceanfront acres overlooking America's #1 rated beach. In 1991, Kapalua Bay was designated as the "Best Beach in America" in a study of 650 beaches across the United States for "Dr. Beach's Top 20 Beaches in America" list. Each year, Dr. Beach (aka Stephen P. Leatherman, a coastal geologist at Florida International University in Miami), studies and rates America's beaches. In addition to the #1 ranking, Kapalua Bay has also been recognized as "Dr. Beach's All-Time Favorite Beach". "It's small and crescent-shaped," notes Leatherman, describing Kapalua Bay, "with soft coral sand and crystal-clear turquoise water, and it's surrounded by big lava flows. You wade into the water and you see these amazing tropical fish. It's a calm, safe beach--the gigantic waves Hawaii is famous for are far in the distance." In addition to Dr. Beach's recognition, The Travel Channel selected Kapalua Bay as the "Best Beach in America" in March 2000. Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas boasts manicured grounds and oversized rooms, offering stunning views of the Maui coastline and beyond to the islands of Molokai and Lanai. The resort offers 191 rooms, five suites, and 14 private ocean villas, providing the intimate, serene ambiance of a small boutique hotel, yet featuring the services and amenities of a large world-class resort. The hotel was recognized in 2002 as one of Conde Nast Traveler's "Top 25 Pacific Rim Resorts" and Travel & Leisure's "Top 25 Hawaii Hotels". In early 2003, the hotel was named to Conde Nast Traveler's prestigious Gold List and Travel &; Leisure's "500 Best Hotels In The World".
