The 23rd Annual Kapalua Wine and Food Festival will take place July 8 through 11, 2004, and the Kapalua Bay Hotel is offering a special package featuring luxury accommodations and tickets to the some of the festival's most popular events.

This year's festival theme is "A Salute to Italy & the World's Great Wine Regions," offering an exploration of Italy's wine and food culture through wine tasting seminars, cooking demonstrations, winemaker dinners, wine tours and other special events throughout the Kapalua resort community.

The four-day festival will be hosted by Master Sommelier Fred Dame, Director of Fine Wine for Allied Domecq USA and the first American to serve as President of the Court of Master Sommeliers Worldwide.

Included in the schedule of events is The Grand Tasting on Friday, July 9--an alfresco sampling of gourmet delicacies and over 150 wines, including premier and reserve vintages, taking place on the spectacular ocean promontory fronting the Kapalua Bay Hotel. Themed wine tents will include "Italy Comes to America," "Napa Valley Greats," "Sparkling Wine Meets Italian Bubbly," "Island Wines from Around the World," "Southern Italy & Southern Hemisphere," "Cool Wine Regions," and "Kings of Europe." In addition, nationally-acclaimed guest sommeliers will share their favorite wine selections that evening at the "Sommelier's Choice" tent.

The Kapalua Bay Hotel's Wine & Food Festival Package is designed for two people and requires a four night minimum stay. The package includes: luxury accommodations at the hotel; two tickets to The Grand Tasting at the Kapalua Bay Hotel on Friday night, July 9; two tickets to the Robert Mondavi Winemaker's Dinner at the hotel's oceanfront Bay Club restaurant on Saturday night, July 10; and two tickets to the Kapalua Seafood Festival on Sunday night, July 11. The package price is $520 per night for Garden View accommodations or $660 per night for Ocean View. Package prices are subject to applicable taxes and a daily $13 resort charge.
