Lobby of the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

Waikiki Hotels and Resorts Photos, Oahu, Hawaii

Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach
2335 Kalakaua Avenue
Honolulu, Hawaii, 96815

Lobby renovated - December 2003. Guests are now greeted in comfort at our new expansive sit-down check-in desk fronting the colorful and dynamic outrigger canoe mural that has become our trademark. Taking a prominent place in the lobby is our star compass, simulating the navigational path of ancient Polynesian voyagers. Feel the power and spirit of those who once paddled our authentic 100-year-old Hawaiian outrigger canoe that sits masterfully nearby. See Hawaiian artifacts up close with rotating exhibits from the Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, providing an intriguing glimpse of Old Hawaii. We also proudly continue our Kalakaua Experience, which honors King David Kalakaua who brought about a revival of the Hawaiian culture during his reign. You will find our free monthly lectures and demonstrations on Hawaiian music, history and art simply fascinating. To further the island experience throughout the hotel, familiar tropical floral icons such as ferns, taro leaves, bamboo and pineapple are incorporated into the decor. From the bold carvings on our check-in desk to the tropically adorned upholstery and wicker-look of the lobby furnishings, the exotic flavor of the islands greet you at every turn.
