Welcome to our Hawaii Diary, a daily report of extended visit to Hawaii from March 18 through April 4, 1998. We hope that by sharing our travel experiences with you, we can help you plan your vacation in Hawaii. Perhaps we can show you some places to visit that you may not have otherwise considered. We'll also show you some of the popular places for sightseeing. If you have visited Hawaii, perhaps we can bring back some great memories.

March 18 -
Arrival
Our arrival in Honolulu and our first night back in paradise.
March 19 -
Polynesian Cultural Center
Our trip to Oahu's North Shore at Haleiwa and our afternoon at the Polynesian
Cultural Center in Laie.
March 20 - The
Bishop Museum
A day at the State Museum of Natural and Cultural History
and a night on the town with our Honolulu Guide and friends.
March 21 -
Downtown Honolulu
We explore the historical sites of downtown Honolulu including the `Iolani Palace.
March 22 - Island
Hop
We're off to Maui and our condo north of Lahaina.
March 23 - West
and Central Maui
A full day exploring the Iao Valley, the Bailey House Museum and our trip around
the north end of West Maui.
March 24 - Whales
and Lahaina
Our whale watching cruise and then an afternoon exploring the old whaling town of
Lahaina.
March 25 -
Haleakala and Upcountry
A early morning trip to the summit of sacred Haleakala and an afternoon in
Upcountry Maui and a visit to the Tedeschi Winery.
March 26 - Maui
Ocean Center and Luau
We visit the new and exciting Maui Ocean Center and then spend the evening at the
Old Lahaina Luau.
March 27 - The
Road to Hana
A full day's trip to Hana and beyond on the beautiful Hana Highway.
March 28 - Island
Hop II
We're off to the Big Island of Hawaii and a our drive to Hilo.
March 29 - Puna,
Volcano and Hilo
We visit the Puna district south of Volcano as well as Volcano National Park.
March 30 - Hilo
with the Olsons
Our day in Hilo with former Big Island Guide Bob Olson and his wife Gayle.
March 31 - Drive
to Waikaloa
We're off to the western shores of the Big Island and the Royal Waikaloan Resort.
April 1
- Ocean to Mountain
Our morning in the Waipio Valley on horseback and our evening at the summit of
Manua Kea viewing the stars.
April 2
- North Kohala and Waimea
We explore the northern part of the Big Island, home of Kamehameha I and the
ranching area of Waimea, home of the Parker Ranch.
A Retrospective
We look back on our 16 days in Hawaii.
