Following the parade a free concert was held on the grassy area between the Public Library and the waterfront.

Three fantastic Hawaiian groups were on hand to entertain the crowd. First up was Sista Robi Kahakalau and Friends.

They were wondeful! Robi's voice is without comparison. She began her sit by singing Keiki O Ke Aina for all of the children of Lahaina. She even sang a song from her new CD which is still in production. Robi's final song was Makua, which is one of my favorites.

Next performing, in a very rare apperance, were the Sons of Hawai'i with Eddie Kamae. The group included the Reverend Dennis Kamakahi. They performed lots of old slack key standards, mixed in with other favorites.

The final performers of the evening were Willie K and Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom, who were equally great. Willie K is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard. Amy Gilliom has a beautiful voice. Both are Na Hoku Hanohano Award winning musicians. Amy recently won for Female Vocalist of the Year and Willie K won for his Christmas album.

Both are successful individual artists who have found an additional avenue for their art with their combined performances which have been selling out to crowds world wide. Their on-stage presence and local humor made for the perfect ending of this three and a half hour concert.
