After lunch we stopped for a while in Kaunakakai. At the Molokai Fish and Dive we were able to purchase a beautiful photo book entitled "A Portrait of Molokai" which was written and published by James H. Brocker, who owns Molokai Fish and Dive. He was very kind to personally autograph this lovely book for us.
Leaving Kaunakakai again, we headed to Molokai's North Shore.

Our first stop was the Kalaupapa Overlook where we had amazing views of the Kalaupapa Peninsula, where Father Damien lived and worked with those suffering from Hansen's Disease. The early afternoon views were amazing - much better than for those who visit the overlook in the morning.

In the afternoon the sun is behind you and it enlightens the detail below, including the beautiful black sand `Awahua Beach.
Before we left the Kalaupapa Lookout, we took the trail to see Kauleonanahoa, otherwise known as Phallic Rock, the name of which speaks a thousand words.

One story has it that if a woman goes to Kauleonanahoa with offerings and then spends the night, she will return home pregnant.
