Hawaii Diaries

We have three separate Hawaii Diaries available for your enjoyment. Each is a personal travelogue of one of your Guide's visits to Hawaii. The individual diary entries will give you a good idea of what can be done and seen in any given day in Hawaii.

Hawaii Diary 1998
This diary includes 18 separate articles detailing a trip to O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii. Some of the places we visit on O'ahu are the Polynesian Cultural Center, Bishop Museum and Downtown Honolulu.

On Maui we explore the old whaling town of Lahaina, go on a whale watch with the Pacific Whale Foundation, explore the Maui Ocean Center, and make the journeys to beautiful Hana and to the top of Haleakala.

On the Big Island we visit the Puna region and historic Hilo, ride horseback in the Waipio Valley and journey to the top of the tallest mountain on earth, Mauna Kea, to see the sunset. We also explore the North Kohala area, home of Kamehameha I and the ranch lands of Waimea, home of the Parker Ranch.

Hawaii Diary 2000
This diary includes 16 separate articles detailing a trip to O'ahu, Maui and the island of Molokai. On O'ahu we visit the Battleship Missouri in Pearl Harbor, take a day trip around the island, and explore O'ahu's leeward coast.

On Maui we drive around the rugged north shore of west Maui, spend an evening at the Old Lahaina Luau, enjoy a free Hawaiian music concert as part of the Celebration of Canoes Festival. We also drive along Maui's Kihei Coast, drive to the summit of Haleakala and journey to Hana and beyond on the Hana Highway.

We also travel to the island of Molokai for a day with Paragon Airlines and the Molokai Off-road Tours and Taxi.

Hawaii Diary 2001
This 8 part diary traces our experiences in January 2001 with Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays and the Sheraton Hotels of Hawaii. We travel directly from New York on Pleasant's new "Air Cruise", and then spend two great days at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel.

From O'ahu we travel to Maui for two days at the Sheraton Maui on Ka'anapali Beach where we go on a whale watch with Teralani Sailing Excursions.

After Maui, it's back to O'ahu for two more days exploring such places as Haunama Bay, Sandy Beach and Waimanalo Beach. We also visit the Honolulu Zoo, enjoy a concert by the Royal Hawaiian Band and travel to the north shore to watch the surfers at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park.
