In January 2012, About Hawaii Travel, for the first time, participated in the About.com Readers' Choice Awards. Readers were asked to nominate their favorites in the following five categories: Favorite Hawaiian Island, Favorite Beach in Hawaii, Favorite Hawaiian Hotel/Resort Company, Favorite Luau in Hawaii and Favorite Hawaii Activity Company or Provider.
After a very competitive nomination period, five finalists were chosen in each of the aforementioned categories. From February 22 through March 21, 2012, readers cast their votes to select the ultimate winners. Several of our categories were highly competitive as companies mustered their hundreds of Facebook fans to vote.
