Photos of Hilo Town on the Big Island of Hawaii

By

While visiting the eastern side of the Big Island (the locals call it "Hilo-side"), many people pass right through Hilo Town, either by chance or by choice. This is a shame, for they are missing a true jewel of Hawaii. Hilo is home to a wonderful and historic downtown area with two fine museums and some great shopping, beautiful natural wonders, lots of rainbows, several lovely parks and a great fish auction held early each morning. Despite its rainly reputation, (the rain falls mainly at night), Hilo's people are some of the friendliest in Hawaii.

We are pleased to share some of our photos of Hilo. You can view all of the photos by clicking on the first photo and then using the easy navigation to each photo. The photos are also indexed on this page should you wish to view individual photos.
