Maui

Explore the Waters of Maui and Lanai

For a limited time this summer, Trilogy Excursions will be offering their Ultimate Adventure in Paradise on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take advantage of this opportunity to snorkel the shores of Lanai or explore the sights on land with an Island Jeep Safari. Don’t Worry About Your Breath

Breath mints aren’t a requirement at the 15th Annual Whalers Village Maui Onion Festival, August 7-8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Whalers Village. Admission is free. The Maui sweet onion is growing in international popularity and will be spotlighted at this festival. Activities will include cooking demonstrations by Hawaii’s top chefs, a recipe contest, parade, games, and a raw Maui onion eating contest.

Adding to the gastronomic thrills, the International Federation of Competitive Eating will bring one of its champion eaters, the 450-lb Eric "Badlands" Booker, to challenge last year’s champion Eric Seigmund and other local competitors. (more)

Kids Learn To Windsurf

Windsurfing is one of the most exciting sport activities if you know what you are doing. Kids, ages 9-16, can learn how in a safe, controlled environment with Hawaiian Sailboarding Techniques’ Kids Windsurfing Camp. Throughout July and August the experienced and inexperienced can learn the finer methods of sail control, board steering, turning and rigging. More advanced windsurfers can move up to waterstarting and other maneuvers.

Classes will meet on the east end of Kanaha Beach Park at 9 a.m. Pick-up is at 2 p.m. All the necessary equipment will be provided, but if participants prefer, they can bring their own. Snorkeling Fun for Kids

Jack’s Diving Locker is making snorkeling easy for kids and young adults to participate in and enjoy with this summer with its Scuba Camps. A variety of activities allow kids as young as 8 years old to learn and have fun above and below the water.

Choose from:

  • Advanced Scuba Camp, July 19-23. Cost is $200 plus materials.
  • Specialty Diver Camp, July 26-30. Cost is $275 plus materials.
  • Rescue Diver Camp, call for availability. Cost is $275 plus materials.
  • Sea Camp Hawaii, July 19-23. Cost is $200 plus materials.
  • Scuba Camp, July 26-30 and August 9-13. Cost is $200 plus materials.
  • Ocean Ecology Camp, July 12-16. Cost is $225 plus materials.

Cruise In Style

Fair Wind Cruises is offering their popular "Deluxe Afternoon Cruise" this summer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2 - 6:30 p.m. This cruise is only offered during the spring and summer and offers four and a half hours of cruise time, most of which is being spent snorkeling in the pristine Kealakekua Bay. Guests will be treated to a complete barbeque lunch and complimentary drinks during the return trip to Keauhou Bay.

Admission for adults are $88.54 and children, ages 4-12, are $52.08, inclusive of tax. A one-tank scuba dive is available for an additional cost.
