By , About.com Guide

Big Island

Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa

  • Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Danny Couch hosts the Origins Luau dinner show at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa twice weekly in the evenings. The luau begins with a special cocktail reception on Hawaii Lawn while enjoying the sunset. Following the food service, the sound of the conch shell signals the start of the show. Hula Town Productions takes guests on a spirited journey through Polynesia.

  • At the Crystal Blue lounge, guests can enjoy the breathtaking sunset while relaxing in the comfortable living-room-style seating and listening to Island music. Local entertainers that perform on a regular basis in the evenings are: Joe Conti Duo who plays pop and variety music; T&T who plays contemporary music; Clay Mortensen Duo; Pacific Fusion who plays contemporary and pop hits; and Island Fever who plays Island and contemporary music.

Kauai

Sheraton Kauai Resort

  • The Kaleo Club International performs daily at sunset at the "Mai Tai Party" held oceanside near The Point lounge. Vocalists skilled in guitar, ukulele, and bass, serenade guests with Hawaiian and Contemporary Hawaiian music, while hula dancers interpret these songs through graceful movements and warm smiles. Ka Leo Club International was founded by Doric Yaris, a Kauai native, in 1995. Inspired by his musician father, Doric became a professional entertainer in high school. Yaris has grown his Ka Leo Club International to be home to 50 talented entertainers and a hula halau (Halau Hula O Hali'ileo) of 100 dancers, who perform across the mainland and Japan.

  • Surf to Sunset Luau, Kauai's only oceanfront luau, is offered at the Sheraton Kauai Resort twice a week in the evenings. The luau, just footsteps from the white sandy beach, is an ideal family event. Award winning Polynesian revue emceed by Dickie Chang entertain the guests while they enjoy an elaborate banquet that features both traditional Hawaiian delicacies as well as ethnic foods found in Hawaii.

Princeville Resort

  • The Living Room at the Princeville Hotel is home to nationally-acclaimed Songwriter and Keyboardist Michael Ruff. Ruff maintains a large following in L.A. and New York and sells out concerts throughout Europe while making Hawaii his home. He is a talented solo artist who has recorded such songs as "Once In A Lifetime" and "Girl Like You". Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, David Sanborn, Kenny Loggins to name a few have recorded Michael's songs.

  • Also performing regularly in the evenings at the Living Room is Ken Emerson, Grammy Award®-winning slack key guitarist. Emerson immediately absorbed the island culture after his family moved to Hawaii from San Francisco in 1968. He taught himself slack key and has become known as an authentic traditional acoustic Hawaiian steel guitarist. By mid-1970's, Emerson was playing alongside such legendary performers as Gabby Pahinui, Raymond Kane, Auntie Alice Namakelua, Atta Isaacs, and Sol K. Bright.

Maui

Sheraton Maui Resort

  • Sheraton Maui Resort offers Ka'anapali Sunset Luau at the foot of famous cliff diving point, Black Rock, twice a week in the evenings. Renowned Polynesian entertainment producer, Tihati Productions, provides the entertainment for the luau. The Tihati Polynesia Revue is a spectacular voyage through the South Pacific. It is a colorful presentation of the Polynesians from Hawaii, Fiji, Rarotonga, New Zealand, and Samoa set to the pulsating drum beats and celebrative dances of Tahiti, fierce warrior dances of Fiji, and the fire dance of Samoa.

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa

  • Benny U. (Benny Uyetake), a songwriter, composer, and guitar player, performs regularly in the evenings at the Tropica at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa. Uyetake's love for the Hawaiian music started at an early age listening to his father singing and playing the ukulele.
