Following the limited field Women’s World Cup of Golf in South Africa in January, the LPGA holds its first full-field event on Oahu's North Shore with the SBS Open at Turtle Bay. In 2007, Paula Creamer, secured her third LPGA tournament victory and the $165 thousand winner's share by defeating Julieta Granada by one stroke in a high drama finale. Creamer will meet some fierce competitors for top honors when she challenges the stellar 2008 field of golf champions like Natalie Gulbis, Ai Miyazato, Grace Park, Morgan Pressel, and, of course, Lorena Ochoa, the 2007 Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year. This is a great tournament for golf fans visiting O'ahu since daily tickets cost just $10 and a full week pass only $25.

The LPGA concludes its Hawaii swing with the 3rd annual Fields Open in Hawaii at the Ko Olina Golf Club at the beautiful Ko Olina Resort on Oahu's leeward shore. In 2007 Stacy Prammanasudh defeated Jee Young Lee by one stroke to take home the $180 thousand winner's share. The tournament features a full field of the LPGA's finest players, including 2007 Player of the Year Lorena Ochoa, crowd favorites Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel, Japan sensation Ai Miyazato, tour veterans Juli Inkster and Pat Hurst and defending champion Stacy Prammanasudh, a complimentary pro exhibition event and spectacular Expo Gallery.

The Kapalua Resort on Maui will play host to this new fall tournament on the LPGA schedule. As LPGA players head to South Korea and Japan for tournaments, they'll stop in Hawaii for the new Kapalua LPGA Classic. This annual event will be an official 72-hole tournament on the LPGA schedule. The top female players in the world will gather at the Arnold Palmer/Francis Duane designed Bay Course competing for their share of the $1.5 million purse. A title sponsor has not yet been named.
