Food Service
Food service at the Sheraton Maui Resort is excellent whether it be the morning breakfast buffet, a lunch at the Lagoon Bar, or dinner at one of the resort's restaurants. The resort's signature restaurant Teppan-yaki Dan is my hands down favorite place to dine on Maui. I've eaten there at least six times that I can recall, even when I've stayed elsewhere in West Maui. Teppan-yaki Dan is, for me, a destination itself.
Teppan-yaki Dan
I've eaten at a number of "Hibachi" style restaurants but Teppan-yaki Dan takes the concept to a much higher level. Not only is the food and drink superb, but the restaurant's talented knife-welding chefs are some of the best in Hawaii. They're not only fantastic chefs but really fun people and great entertainers who will keep you talking and smiling during the entire dinner preparation. Unlike at many similar restaurants you'll find that you really talk to and interact with the other guests seated around you. It's a truly fun experience and one you shouldn't miss when you're on Maui.Pool and Beach Activities
If you're looking to get that Hawaii suntan, you won't find a better pool deck than at the Sheraton Maui Resort and the pools are some of the best maintained anywhere in Hawaii. But, as good as the pool area is, the beach and ocean at Sheraton Maui is even better. As I've said it's the widest portion of beach at the Ka'anapali Beach Resort and the snorkeling and scuba diving off of Black Rock is, in my opinion, better than you'll find at the much more well known Molokini Atol and you won't have to take a boat to get there.
Ocean Activities
The Sheraton Maui Resort has working relationships with two companies that offer great ocean activities. 5 Star Scuba has a kiosk right at the beach and whether you're a first time scuba diver or already certified, a scuba dive at Black Rock is not to be missed. Teralini Sailing Adventures is my favorite ocean sailing company in Hawaii and they offer snorkel sails, sunset sails and whale watching sails (in season) directly from Ka'anapali Beach. The lobby concierge can work with you to schedule any of these activities. If your time is limited and yet you still want an exhilarating experience, try a UFO Parasail over the waters off of Ka'anapali Beach. In just about an hour, you can experience an 10-minute individual or tandem parasail on an 800-foot line that you'll remember for years to come.
