Overlooking Hanalei Bay and the famed "Bali Hai" on Kauai’s exclusive north shore, the Princeville Resort commands one of the most spectacular views in Hawaii. The elegant resort hotel features 252 rooms and suites, and four restaurants and lounges for gourmet dining and end-of-the day relaxation. History:
The resort was built in 1985 and last renovated in 2000. New ownership is planning an extensive renovation. Look for news in the spring of 2007.

Guest Rooms:

The Princeville Resort has 201 standard guest rooms offering oceanfront, ocean or mountain/garden views. Forty-one Prince Junior Suites with oceanfront views are one and a half times the size of standard rooms. There are also seven Executive Suites, two Presidential Suites and the Royal Suite.

Princeville Resort’s rooms and suites are spacious and tastefully decorated in custom-designed color schemes. Each room is accented with the vibrant colors of Hawaiian flora, such as the yellow hibiscus, the red of the ohia flower and the dark green of Kauai’s mokihana berry.

Features in all rooms and suites include: custom-designed furnishings, door chimes, dimmer switches on all lamps, lighted closets, bedside control panels, complimentary in-room safes, Lodgenet movie system, mini bar/entertainment pantry, complimentary coffee and tea, Sony CD player/clock radio and original oil paintings and prints.

In addition, there is a signature privacy window in each room that electronically changes to allow for view or opaqueness. The location of this window varies according to room category.

Bathrooms are appointed with lighted makeup mirrors, oversized bathtubs, marble double vanities, gold-plated fixtures, height adjustable shower heads, side lighted mirror panels, music speakers, thick terry bathrobes & slippers and Aveda bath products.

Dining and Entertainment:

Cafe Hanalei serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, Champagne Sunday Brunch, and Seafood Buffet with indoor and outdoor seating available. Menu items reflect Continental cuisine.

La Cascata, features terra-cotta floors and trompe l’oeil paintings. The restaurant offers island-inspired Mediterranean cuisine for evening dining seven nights a week.

The Beach Restaurant & Bar serves lunch and snacks daily. A poolside Luau with Polynesian entertainment is held on Monday and Thursday evenings all year round.

Cocktails, Afternoon Tea, and nightly Pupus (Hors d’oeuvres) are available in The Living Room, adjacent to the lobby with the best sunset views anywhere. Entertainment performed nightly. The hotel also provides 24-hour private dining.

A Romantic Dinner by the Sea or other scenic location can be experienced at the Princeville Resort. Dedicated wait staff and five course gourmet menu sets the stage for a magical evening together.

Princeville Luau:

A Beachside Luau is held Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. in a tent adjacent to the pool deck and beach. Polynesian dance and culture are featured at Pa'ina o' Hanalei (Hanalei Dinner Party).You will enjoy wonderful island cuisine topped off with the excitement of the luau show "Tahiti o' Hanalei".

From the shores of Tahiti, New Zealand, Samoa, and Hawaii, you will enjoy the music and dance of Polynesia. The show is produced by Mi Nei Oliver and her family. Mi Nei has received numerous Tahitian awards and is a former Ms. Garden Island. Her sisters, Ha'aheo, Vehi and brother, Vaika perform in the show. See photos.

Resort Amenities:

Services include lei greeting and express check-in, knowledgeable concierge staff, valet parking and nightly turndown upon request. There is complimentary transportation within Princeville to the golf courses, tennis facilities, shopping center and Princeville Airport.

The resort features a beauty salon, sundry shop, resort logo apparel and gift boutique, and a fine jewelry store. Guests enjoy relaxing poolside or swimming, boogie boarding or snorkeling in the warm Pacific waters. The resort offers complete pool and beach services.

On-site Activities:

The resort offers a number of activities and services for both children and adults.

In addition to the resort's 5,000-square foot infinity pool, the resort features three hot Jacuzzis and a children’s wading pool.

The resort's Beach Concierge can help you with scuba dives, set you up with a surf lesson, or get you going on a self-guided river tour. Guided ocean tours and sailing charters are also available. Quality equipment may be rented for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Nearby Activities

Within a short drive of the resort guests can find a shopping village, 45-holes of championship and resort golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Princeville Ranch where several horseback ride options are offered. and a the Princeville Health Club & Spa which offers expert health, beauty and fitness programs, as well as incredible spa treatments to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. Down in the valley below is the quaint historic town of Hanalei with numerous restaurant choices and great shopping. Beyond Hanalei guests can explore some of Hawaii's most amazing and beautiful beaches or embark upon a hike on the rugged Na Pali Coast.

Keiki Aloha Club

Princeville Resort's "Keiki Aloha Club" is the resort's children’s program for youngsters 5 to 12 years old. Available to guests seasonally on Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Keiki Aloha includes lunch.

Sample activities include flower lei making, hula dancing, indoor and outdoor games, pool play sessions, beach and tide pool exploration. More universal children's activities such as sandcastle building, drawing, painting and kite flying are also offered.

Children will have the opportunity to learn about the menehune, the mysterious, industrious and mischievous little people of Kauai along with other Hawaiian legends and stories.
