The Old Lahaina Lighthouse is located in the pier next to the brig Carthaginian. It was built in 1840 under a commission by King Kamehameha III as an aid to navigation for whalers. It is the oldest lighthouse in the Hawaiian Islands. The lighthouse was completely rebuilt in 1905.
