The final stop on our tour was Purdy's Nuts which is a macadamia nut farm - the only one on Molokai.

Here you can actually walk through a macadamia nut grove and learn about the life cycle of the macadamia. The trees here are all maintained naturally without any pesticides. Cats are used to prowl the grounds to keep the rodent population from attacking the macadamia nuts.

We had a lesson and tried our hand at cracking a macadamia nut shell. The taste of a fresh, unprocessed macadamia nut is truly amazing as is the taste of the nuts freshly roasted without any preservatives.

Our day was at an end and it was time to return to the airport for our trip back to the West Maui Airport.

Flying back in the late afternoon, we had a great view of Ka'anapali Beach on Maui from the air.

Our trip to Moloka'i is one that we will long remember and cherish. While we have much to see and do on Moloka'i on a future trip, we gained a great understanding of the basic layout of the island thanks to our amazing guide. Mahalo, Timmy.

Tomorrow, we're off to Hana and beyond. Have a great day. Aloha.
