Activities and Entertainment

The island of Oahu is brimming with fun filled activities that everyone can enjoy. While visiting Oahu you can choose from a wide variety of outdoor or indoor activities or choose to explore the Hawaiian culture.
  • The Battleship Missouri Memorial has unveiled the "CPO Legacy Center," the first center dedicated to the chief petty officer (CPO), the highest of the enlisted military ranks. The exhibit space is located within restored CPO living spaces about the "Mighty Mo," the world’s last battleship, including the newly refurbished chiefs’ mess (a.k.a. "goat locker"), galley, lounge, and bunkrooms.

  • Led by real Oahu firefighters, Fire Truck Hawaii offers tours on an original 1936 fire truck to learn about the history of the fire department in Hawaii. Participants can wear authentic fire-fighting gear through Honolulu and learn interesting life-saving tips from the time-honored profession. Fire Truck Hawaii, in cooperation with the Waikiki Community Center, offers the Historic Downtown and Waikiki tour Monday through Friday.

  • Ravenchase Adventures presents The Great Waikiki Treasure Hunt, which is described as a combination of the Amazing Race, Da Vinci Code and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Teams first receive a hand made treasure map, clues on parchment scrolls and a bag of cool gadgets, and are then sent out around the city. Actors are also planted along the course, to interact with and help the teams. The answers and puzzle pieces along the course will lead teams to a secret end location, where prizes are awarded to the top three teams. The Hunt takes place twice daily at the International Market Place.

  • Hawaii Duck Tours is offering a combination package for customers who want to have fun and save money. The package includes both Pearl Harbor and Hanauma Bay Duck tours, enjoyed from the comfort of a fully restored amphibious World War II vehicle known as the "DUCK."

  • Honolulu Symphony will begin its fall season in August 2007 with an exciting series of new concerts. The opening night show will feature violinist Sarah Chang, and other slated performances will include "Haydn & Beethoven: Great Masters," "Mozarts Harp & Flute Concerto," "Chopin’s 2nd Piano Concerto," and much more.

  • Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks now offers a luxury kayak tour of world famous Kailua Bay. The two-hour Guided Kayak Excursion includes snorkeling, a full lunch, hotel pick-up and tour guide, and the option to upgrade with a relaxing one-hour massage after the kayak.

  • Oahu Ghost Tours® takes guests to some of the most haunted places on Oahu with two unique tours. The first is a two-mile walking tour called "Honolulu City Haunts," which showcases several locations where supernatural events are still happening today, from the feared "night marchers," to the sacrificial sites to old hospitals that housed sick children during World War II. The second tour, "Orbs of Oahu" is a driving tour almost entirely around the island, making stops at some of the island's haunted locales. Both tours incorporate historical and ancestral information, as well as eye witness accounts.

  • Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Outrigger Reef on the Beach have planned a series of cultural activities and events for this summer, many of which were developed in collaboration with Hawaii’s most knowledgeable cultural masters. Upcoming events coming up include a Hawaiian quilt display by master designer John Serrao; Flavors of the Reef, showcasing Hawaii’s diverse multi-ethnic heritage; Kawehewehe Aloha, spotlighting Hawaiian healing and wellness; Ukulele Jam featuring professional musician Bryan Tolentino; Hawaiian Slack Key Workshop with two-time Grammy Award nominee Ledward Kaapana; and the Duke Kahanamoku Birthday Celebration in honor of Hawaii’s legendary surfer.

  • Sheraton Princess Kaiulani welcomes Hawaii’s own Danny Couch back to Waikiki, as it presents "Danny Couch, the Voice of These Islands" every Monday and Wednesday night at the Ainahau Showroom. Guests have the option to purchase tickets for the cocktail show or dinner show.

  • Sheraton Waikiki invites guests to "Discover Aloha" with a new line-up of nightly poolside entertainment. From the sounds of a conch shell to the ceremonial torch lighting, Sheraton Waikiki has created an environment featuring fun for the whole family. Families will enjoy events offering storytelling and smores by a beachside campfire, line dancing in flip flops, poolside "dive-in" movies and much more.

  • Beginning May 1, the Star of Honolulu’s Hawaiian Cultural Cruise will offer hands-on cultural activities amidst panoramic views of the Oahu coastline. The two-hour daytime cruise features lei making, hula and ukulele lessons, fun fish-feeding, a Hawaiian culture video presentation, and the "Enchanting Waikiki" hula show. The deluxe meal package includes a new "Taste of Hawaii" buffet lunch.

  • Waikiki Beach Walk is Waikiki's brand new entertainment district where visitors can stay, play, shop, and dine. It is home to the all-new, all-suite Embassy Suites®-Waikiki Beach Walk™, the newly opened Wyndham Vacation Ownership Waikiki Beach Walk, the oceanfront Outrigger Reef on the Beach, the OHANA Islander Waikiki and the planned Trump International Hotel & Tower-Waikiki Beach Walk. An open-air plaza is surrounded by shops and boutiques, as well as restaurants like Roy’s Waikiki, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Holokai Grill, and Giovanni Pastrami. Entertainment is offered nightly, with cultural activities available free of charge at Mana Hawaii, which opens in April.

  • Wild Side Specialty Tours will unveil the newest edition to its fleet, The Alakai, in May 2007. The custom-built Alakai is the fastest, smoothest, driest boat of its kind.
