By John Fischer, About.com

The island of Oahu has plenty of fun filled activities that everyone can enjoy. While visiting Oahu you can choose from a wide variety of outdoor or indoor activities or explore the Hawaiian culture.

Atlantis Submarines is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Hawai'i this year, marking two decades of underwater tours and marine conservation. In celebration of this event, it is offering special savings on tour packages combined with Atlantis Cruises' scenic sunset dinner cruise along O'ahu's south shore. The sub-and-cruise packages offer savings of up to 15 percent off the a la carte price (good through December 31, 2008) and can be combined with any of the submarine tours.

In conjunction with the 11th Annual Textile Society of America Biennial Symposium, Bishop Museum is featuring "'Ili Iho: The Surface Within," in its J.M. Long Gallery until April 5, 2009. This exhibit explores four textile treasures: a magnificent feathered cloak, a fine makaloa mat, intricate kapa, and an infamous protest quilt. It also highlights eight contemporary Hawaiian artists who have created their own works based on the four textile treasures. The Bishop Museum will welcome the traveling exhibit, "Megladon: The Largest Shark that Ever Lived" from October 11, 2008 to January 11, 2009. This is a new national traveling exhibit that inspires fascinating lessons for shark science and shark conservation.

Hans Hedemann Surf School is now offering two new tours. The North Shore Tour package includes roundtrip transportation, surf or bodyboard lesson, equipment, and sightseeing on the North Shore. The package can be customized to meet the skill levels of the participating surfers. The Stand Up Paddle Surfing Tour teaches participants the quickly growing sport of stand up paddle surfing.
