New to The Royal Hawaiian Center is Ai Amour Luxury Lingerie, an upscale boutique that carries an extensive mix of luxury lingerie brands, many of which are exclusively sold at the store. In addition to lingerie, Ai Amour Luxury Lingerie also offers a select collection of resort wear and swimwear from top designers including Christian Lacroix, La Perla, Kenzo, Miss Bikini, and others. Polynesian Cultural Center recently introduced the Aloha Elvis store to celebrate the history of Elvis Presley. The store carries a wide array of Elvis memorabilia, toys, games, limited edition items, gadgets, and souvenirs, including a signature Elvis aloha shirt. The store also offers little-known facts about the King and his legacy as a frequent visitor to O'ahu and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
Waikiki Beach Walk's newest boutique is Bittner, the Pleasure of Writing, a leading specialist and retailer for fine writing instruments. Patrons of the store also will find a wide selection of colored inks, hand-made paper, leather journals, and other writing accessories.
Cloth, a new vintage boutique in Honolulu, recently opened at 909 Kapi'olani Boulevard. The boutique sells men's and women's clothing, accessories and home décor found at some of the best estate sales and premier thrift stores throughout the country. Cloth also offers exclusive design lines and complimentary in-store alterations.
Koko Marina Shopping Center in Hawaii Kai recently welcomed Cookie Couture to the space previously occupied by Koko Cabana. Cookie Couture is a women's boutique that features mainland brands never before found in Hawaii, including Soul Revival, Hard Tail and Ankh, at prices that don't exceed $100.
In November 2008, local residents Liz Lerner and Kai Cost opened Guava Shop, a women's boutique in Hale'iwa on O'ahu's North Shore. Guava Shop is located in the Hale'iwa Town Center and carries popular mainland brands, including Indah, Splendid, C&C California, Frankie B, and several others. The boutique is also an exclusive carrier of Red Flower and Salt Swimwear and offers handcrafted Kaila jewelry by Kai Cost and items from local green companies, including Plastic Free Hale'iwa and Defend O'ahu Coalition.
Ala Moana Center recently welcomed Spiral Girl, a Japanese casual luxury retailer that specializes in young and adult women's apparel and collaborates with Maxi Hawaiian Jewelry to offer shoppers their own unique and modern designs. Miki House, a top-selling Japanese brand, also recently opened its first stand-alone store in the United States at Ala Moana Center, offering an extensive selection of high-end, stylish children's clothing, accessories and educational toys. Ala Moana Center will also welcome new luxury tenants Miu Miu, in Spring 2009, and Michael Kors, in Summer 2009.
Ward Centers added four new retailers to its family of more than 135 shops and restaurants. The Growing Nest at Ward Warehouse is an upscale maternity and baby boutique featuring trendy maternity wear, educational toys for babies and tots, chic home and nursery décor, and weekly mommy/baby classes. Dolce at Ward Centre offers stylish clothes and accessories for women. Many of the brands featured at Dolce have never been available in Hawaii before. Menchie's Frozen Yogurt at Ward Warehouse offers a rotating selection of frozen yogurt flavors and toppings, including local favorite flavors lychee, taro and green tea and toppings such as mochi, fresh fruit and candy.
