Oahu Restaurant News for the Fall of 2010

Oahu is known for its diverse culture, which is exhibited by the island assortment of foods. With wonderful choices and an array of cuisine options, there's sure to be a restaurant for everyone.

  • BLT Steak at the Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk will host a series of cooking classes once a month. Chef de Cuisine Johan Svennson will run through various topics each Saturday, such as back to school cooking ideas, quick meals for the family table, and how to grill different types of fish.

  • New to downtown Honolulu is Good Eats Subs ‘N Stuff, a sandwich shop that uses fresh, local ingredients to create gourmet subs. In the future, the eatery plans to expand its menu to include soups and salads.

  • Hard Rock Café Waikiki will open later this year in its new Waikiki location. The new multi-level café will have nearly 13,000-square feet of space, including a 245-seat restaurant, outdoor dining, rock n’ roll memorabilia, and a Rock Shop.

  • Il Lupino Trattoria and Wine Bar is scheduled to open this fall at the Royal Hawaiian Center. The restaurant by restaurateur Wolfgang Zwieger will serve Italian cuisine in a casual, yet sophisticated environment, and will feature an alfresco bar.

  • Ilikai Bar & Grill, formerly Canoe’s Restaurant, reopened recently at the Ilikai Hotel & Suites and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. On Friday nights, the restaurant offers a hula show and dinner buffet.
