    Na Leo Pilimehana, in Hawaiian meaning "the voices blending together in warmth," presents the best of island contemporary music in Hawaii. Nalani Choy, Lehua Kalima Heine and Angela Morales swept the Na Hoku Awards 20 years ago and continue to produce international hits. They will celebrate music from the ‘70s and ‘80s.

    Thursday, August 19, 2004 - Makaha Sons
    The powerful Makaha Sons, known for their magical harmonies and on-stage humor, will lead the final concert of the season. Louis "MOON" Kauakahi, Jerome "BOOGIE" Koko and John Koko will provide a spectacular night of Hawaiian song and dance celebrating Hawaiian life through music and hula.

  • Brunch on the Beach
    Once a month, Brunch on the Beach transforms Kalakaua Avenue in front of Waikiki Beach into a charming Hawaiian outdoor café with signature dishes prepared on site by Waikiki’s finest chefs, including breakfast specials, omelets, entrées and desserts at bargain prices. The Royal Hawaiian Band Glee Club kicks off the show, followed by authentic hula presentations, young Hawaiian entertainers and award-winning artists as headliners, all for free. Generally held on the third Sunday of each month from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

  • Nightly Torch Lighting and Hula Performances
    Enjoy a beautiful Hawaiian sunset, romantic torch lighting and conch shell ceremony, and authentic Hawaiian music and hula performances right on Waikiki Beach. The hour-long show starts just before sunset and features the young men of the "Men of Ho’a" in a torch lighting ceremony, followed by the award-winning hula halau schools dedicated to hula and Hawaiian culture from throughout Oahu.   • Sunset on the Beach

  • Turtle Bay’s Independence Day Jazz Festival
    On July 3, 2004, Turtle Bay Resort presents its third annual "Guitars Under the Stars" Independence Day concert featuring live music, fireworks, food and fanfare on the resort’s concert grounds. Featured artists include popular jazz group Spyro Gyra and local jazz vocalist, Sonya Mendez, performing with the Brian Kessler Band.
