The Hawaiian island of Oahu has fabulous hotels and resorts for people of all ages and budgets. Oahu's hotels are constantly updating and adding new activities and packages. Everything is designed to make a trip to Oahu unforgettable.- Aqua Aloha Surf underwent a name change and is now Aqua Aloha Surf & Spa. Located at 444 Kanekapolei Street, the 202-room hotel with an urban surf theme is one of five properties in Aqua's Boutique Collection. Plans call for the third AquaSPA facility to be in place by the end of 2007.
- Castle Resorts & Hotels announced the addition of the 596-room Maile Sky Court to its management portfolio. Maile Sky Court is conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki and features panoramic views of Waikiki and the coastline. Resort amenities include a swimming pool, restaurant, lounge, gift shop, travel desks, and 24-hour self-service business center.
- SpaHalekulani at the Halekulani unveiled a new spa menu featuring treatments such as the "Five States of Being" Aromatherapy Oils and the "Opulence Infusion Oxygen Facial." Authentically crafted Polynesian therapeutic rituals with today's purest products and proven techniques will replenish spa guests.
- The Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa has completed the first of two major projects in its "Village Rejuvenation" plan. The $15 million, yearlong project to restore the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon finished in early October. The lagoon, named after Hawaii's aquatic legend, features a new water circulation system with seven saltwater wells 250 below the surface of the ocean that draws in about 15,000 gallons of water per minute from the ocean.
Other projects completed this year include the opening of The Great Lawn, formerly known as the Lagoon Green, for outdoor events and functions. In early 2009, construction of the 39-story Grand Waikikian timeshare tower along Ala Moana Boulevard, should be completed.
- The Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort now offers guests the opportunity to participate in the traditional art of hula, fresh flower lei making and Hawaiian quilt making lessons. The resort has teamed up with world-renowned kumu hula Tiare Noelani Chang and Halau Na Mamo O Ka'ala to learn the graceful steps of the hula every Thursday. Fresh flower lei making is offered every Tuesday, and Hawaiian quilt making lessons are offered on Wednesday.
- Keiki (children), from five to 12 years old staying at Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort, will have fun discovering Hawaii through dance, arts and crafts, games, food, storytelling, excursions, and cultural activities at the resort's new Westin Kids Club Discovery Room. The club captivates children's imaginations with a daily program of learning experiences, enabling parents to enjoy some private time while their children embark on their adventures.
- Now through December 21, 2007, guests who book Standard Kitchenette accommodations at the OHANA Waikiki West will receive a free upgrade to a City View Kitchenette guestroom. In addition to the free upgrade, guests will receive a daily complimentary $15 voucher for the Food Pantry. Vouchers for the entire stay are issued at check-in, giving guests the option to combine the value for a one-time purchase.
