Hilton Hawaiian Village Named Best in Chain for Guest Loyalty

Resort Also Earns Awards for Art Collection, Alii Tower, Meetings

By John Fischer, About.com

Hilton Hawaiian Village® Beach Resort & Spa continues to garner recognition for its high standards of service and amenities for its guests with four recent but widely diverse awards.

For the third consecutive year, Hilton Hawaiian Village earned the top award for guest loyalty from Hilton Hotels Corporation at the corporation’s 2004 Full-Service Brand Conference in New Orleans.

The annual Guest Loyalty Award is awarded to the Hilton hotel with the highest annual customer loyalty scores among hotels with more than 500 rooms. The award recognized the hotel’s efforts to cultivate, retain and reward repeat guests. The customer loyalty scores, measured throughout the Hilton chain by an outside agency, are based on random samplings of recent Hilton guests. The surveys gauge guest satisfaction with a variety of services and amenities.

Hilton Hawaiian Village consistently rated one of Hilton Hotels Corporation’s highest guest loyalty scores in 2003, and some 40 percent of Hilton Hawaiian Village guests are return visitors, signaling a significant level of customer satisfaction. Responding to customer service surveys, guests praised the Village’s overall service levels, as well as the quality of Village products and facilities. In an ongoing effort to maintain and improve those standards, Hilton Hawaiian Village spends some $10-15 million each year on renovations and other improvements.

For the seventh year in a row - and the sixteenth time in 17 years - Successful Meetings Magazine has awarded the Village its Pinnacle Award. The award recognizes an unwavering commitment to meetings service that is essential to the success of meeting, event, convention and incentive planners.

Customers also expressed their satisfaction with the Village in the May/June issue of Departures Magazine, naming the Village’s Ali’i Tower to the magazine’s list of favorite Hawaiian hotels. This first-class "hotel within a hotel" is for Hilton’s most discerning guests who demand the best service.

Ali’i guests are treated to exclusive check-in, private registration and concierge services, maid service three times a day, a private oceanfront pool and sun terrace with a whirlpool, private fitness center and spa treatment rooms, and an oceanview lounge with continental breakfast, snacks and, in the evening, complimentary appetizers. In 2004, to keep the exclusive Ali’i Tower at its best, Hilton will further improve the guest rooms with all-new soft goods, including carpets, drapery, bedding and upholstery.

Guests at the Village don’t have to stay in Ali’i Tower to enjoy yet another award-winning aspect of the Village Experience. The Village’s extensive art collection, ranging from elegant oil paintings to massive sculptures, has been awarded the prestigious 2004 Kahili Award from the Hawaii Tourism Authority for preservation of Hawaiian culture. More than 200 pieces of art, each a revealing glimpse into the history and culture, flora and fauna, and beauty and allure of the Hawaiian Islands, are on display throughout the Village’s 22 acres. Guests can enjoy their breath-taking beauty with a new self-guided art tour that includes works by some of Hawaii’s most renowned artists and sculptors.

"These awards are particularly gratifying for us because the awards recognize our service to our guests, which is of course why we are in the hospitality business," said Peter H. Schall, senior vice president of Hilton Hotels Corporation, Hawaii Region, and managing director of Hilton Hawaiian Village. "Our team members pride themselves on the outstanding service they provide to our customers and neighbors, and we were honored to accept these awards on behalf of the entire Hilton Hawaii team."

Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is Waikiki’s only self-contained destination resort. A vacationer or conventioneer finds everything necessary for a visit to paradise, yet is also within walking distance of everything Waikiki has to offer.
