What's New With Oahu's Hotels and Resorts for the Winter of 2006

Oahu strives to distinguish Itself from other major tourist destinations.

The Island of Oahu, known as the Heart of Hawaii, sets the rhythm of the islands and leads by example with new improvements, changes and additions on an ongoing basis. Below is a glimpse of what’s new on Oahu:

Hotels and Resorts

In a move to distinguish itself from other destinations, Oahu’s hotels and resorts continue to grow, renovate and upgrade in order to provide service and quality that make Oahu a world-class destination.
  • Aqua Hotels and Resorts just announced that it is taking over the "Mauka Tower" of the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. The property is scheduled for a complete renovation into a chic boutique hotel and will be called Ocean Tower Hotel at Waikiki Beach. Compare Prices

  • Aqua Hotels and Resorts is assuming management of the 143-room Continental Surf Hotel, which will now be known as the Aqua Continental. This is the seventh property for Aqua Hotels and Resorts in Waikiki. Compare Prices

  • Kahala Mandarin Oriental, Hawaii will be known simply as The Kahala after March 1 when it is taken over by Landmark Hotels Inc. The new hotel managers and owners are planning a $20 million-plus investment into the property to renovate guest rooms and public areas. The hotel recently added custom-designed pool cabanas with luxury features such as a minibar, iPod Nano music player, flat screen television and wireless Internet access to guests. Compare Prices

  • Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach has introduced Collectible Hawaiiana, a new series of Hawaii-themed collectible shows featuring antique, vintage and contemporary island memorabilia. Compare Prices

  • Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach has introduced a new Suite Package, which includes a lei greeting, transportation via private limousine from the airport to the hotel, express check-in service, oceanfront suite accommodations, welcome basket and $200 spa/dining credit. Compare Prices

  • Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Outrigger Reef on the Beach have new romance packages including champagne on arrival with keepsake flutes, daily breakfast for two, a $100 credit at Serenity Spa, a choice of ocean activities and three nights deluxe accommodation. Compare Prices

  • ResortQuest Hawaii’s Aloha Free Deals package offers guests the following added values: free fifth night; free luau dinner show; and the Aloha Book which includes discount coupons worth up to $1,200 on meals, golf, attractions and shopping.

  • ResortQuest Hawaii Kids Stay, Play & Eat Free Program for 2006 allows kids 17 years and younger to stay free. Kids 12 years and younger receive free admission, meals and gifts from participating vendors when accompanied by a paying adult.

  • SpaHalekulani will offer Spa Teen Programs, beginning in January 2006 with the following services: make-up lessons with hands-on application, teen manicure/pedicure combo, three-step facial and skin assessment, and temporary tattoo. Compare Prices

  • W Honolulu Diamond Head is currently undergoing a significant room refresh. Scheduled for completion in April 2006, this project will include all new furniture, new bed linens, a dresser with built-in laptop safe, new lanai furniture, full-length standing mirror, new bathroom shelving, new carpet and new artwork. In 2005, the rooms received new carpets and W Signature Beds. Compare Prices
