Fitness and Fun - Marriott Style

Hawaii's natural beauty draws people to the ocean's edge. At the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, two freshwater swimming pools are the perfect complement to the sea. Guests are invited to visit the new state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center located on the second floor of the Kealohilani Tower.

Pamper Yourself

The newly opened Spa Olakino Salon is a 6,000 sq. ft. full-service spa created and managed by world-renowned hair stylist and developer of the Hawaii branded hair care products, Paul Brown. Spa Olakino Salon is independently owned and is operated by Paul Brown and his team. The world-class spa is located on the second floor of the Kealohilani Tower, overlooking famed Waikiki Beach. An abundance of fresh Hawaii grown papaya, Kona coffee beans, aloe vera and other exotic plants and fruits are blended and concocted right before your eyes and then lathered on as a body spa treatment.

At Your Service

For personal service and to assist you in planning your vacation agenda, the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa concierge staff, at a desk in Paoakalani Tower lobby, is ready to help. Concierges can assist with sightseeing arrangements, provide direction to the hotel's salon for beauty and massage treatments and make dining recommendations and reservations. They can help to make vacation dreams come true.

Local Attractions

The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa is located across from world-famous Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head and only moments away from several of Oahu's popular attractions.

Guests of the newly renovated Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa not only can enjoy the beauty of all the resort enhancements and new guest services, but also the improvements that the City and County of Honolulu invested in beautifying Waikiki. The resort is also steps away from the city's "Sunset on the Beach," offering complimentary movie screenings on the beach and under the stars. Visitors and residents alike also descend upon Waikiki for the popular "Brunch on the Beach" at nearby Kapiolani Park, where numerous island chefs prepare Hawaii regional cuisine for sampling.

Waikiki is certainly beautiful under the recent $15 million enhancement project now featuring wider pedestrian walkways, extra palm trees, tiki torches, tropical landscaping, additional beach showers, a beach restroom camouflaged behind a water fountain, and new open-air pavilions. Near the famous statue of Hawaii's legendary surfer Duke Kahanamoku, all guests are invited to lounge on the warm, white sand, swim in the sparkling Pacific Ocean or participate in a surfing lesson or outrigger canoe ride.

Less than five minutes away from the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, guests can walk to the beautiful Kapiolani Park featuring a newly renovated Bandstand area and the Waikiki Shell amphitheater. "Brunch on the Beach" attracts visitors and residents alike to sample Hawaii regional cuisine by top rated chefs. Weekend craft fairs, which spotlight island merchants and artists, are another park attraction.

A two-minute drive will take visitors on a scenic adventure to Diamond Head Crater. The hike to one of the most wondrous views of Waikiki is perfect for the whole family. Start off on the inside of the crater and ascend to a spectacular panoramic view of the south shore.

For a sophisticated shopping experience, the newly opened DFS Galleria is a short walk from the resort. The 182,000 square foot complex has a Hawaiian Boat Days theme with historic architectural features and store fittings reminiscent of the early twentieth century Honolulu. Every night there is a free all-Hawaiian show featuring hula styles from the 1920's through the 1940's with historically based hula attire from those eras. A more "street fair" atmosphere can be found at the International Market Place. Guests will step off the busy streets of Waikiki into a bustling arena filled with vendors and restaurants.

Animal lovers will be amazed by exhibits at the Honolulu Zoo like the African Savana "Karibuni Reserve," interactive "Children's Zoo," and exotic "Reptile House." The Waikiki Aquarium's award-winning exhibits will captivate marine enthusiasts with close-up views of giant clams, graceful reef sharks and playful Hawaiian monk seals.

Mondays through Saturday, guests can learn about the rich history of Waikiki by participating in the Waikiki Historic Trail. This free, educational walking tour will lead visitors on a journey into the past and present of Waikiki's remarkable history. Trail historians can be found on the corner of Kalakaua and Kapahulu Avenue.

Located in the heart of Waikiki, guests of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa can experience the vigor of Waikiki and many of Oahu's "must-do" activities.
