As I walked back to my car after dinner, I had to admit that my opinion of the Ala Moana Center had totally changed. It has become much more than just another shopping mall like the hundreds of others I've visited on the mainland. The owners have taken great steps to make it a destination and not just a place to stop, shop and leave.
Ala Moana Shopping Center has a fine selection of stores which now include upscale tenants such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, Chanel, Prada, Hermes, Tiffany and Co, and Bvlgari; as well as a large selection of national brands including Coach, Banana Republic and Abercrombie and Fitch; and uniquely Hawaiian stores such as Martin and MacArthur, Tori Richard, Maui Divers Jewelry, and Hilo Hattie. Its anchor stores are Nieman Marcus, Macy's, Sears and a unique Japanese department store, Shirokiya.
Ala Moana Center has an open and airy atmosphere, great entertainment, and over 70 dining options. Its owners have made a commitment to continue to develop the property. It is now a must visit location on Oahu.
Over 42 million shoppers and diners visit the Ala Moana Center each year, making it one of Hawaii's most visited destinations for locals and tourists alike.
