Sunrise at Haleakala is a very spiritual experience. It gives me chicken skin (goosebumps) because of it's beauty. Sunrise at Haleakala is like no other sunrise I have ever seen. Yes, it means getting up at 2:30 in the morning to make the 2 hour drive, and yes it means freezing your butt off, but where else can you see such a beautiful sunrise. On our 5 trips to Maui we have done 4 sunrises and 1 sunset. You won't regret doing a sunrise or a sunset, but highly recommend the sunrise.
