Just plain bad
- So this was my first trip to the US and my first experience with United. Never again. The cabin crew from SF to NY were bordering on aggresive, check in hadn't a clue and the response to most questions was just down right rude. We also had UA from New Orleans to SF and then from SF to Sydney. On both of these flights the cabin crew were very good but the planes were old and the interior falling apart. Check in questions were again met with obnoxious and rude replies. What a difference arriving at Sydney and dealing with AirNZ staff. Like chalk and cheese.

Embarrased by Rude flight attendant
- I flew United from Munich to Chicago. I`ve had past problems with United , but ended up on this flight for a cheaper fare, The 8+ hour flight was uneventful, until an hour before landing. I asked a flight attendant for a pen to fill out my Customs Declaration form as I didn`t want to wake the passenger next to me and get my pen from my backpack in the overhead bin. This attendant barked LOUDLY " Gee is there anything else you want"!!!! I just ignored and she practically through the pen at me. The 5 minutes later she comes walking down the aisle and gives me a look that would kill...all over a stupid pen !!!! Upon deplaning, she stood off to the right by one of the exit doors and noticed she never said "goodbye" to anyone like they usually do, she had her arms crossed in a defensive manner, covering her tag. I reported her and gave a description since I didn`t know her name. I don`t like paying $1,800 to be screamed at and be given nasty looks. I did nothing wrong. Avoid united.

Expectations ...
- My advice to those whose experienced less than what they wanted. Expect nothing, you'll be much happier when it's over.

My experience with United Airlines
- VERY BAD! The ticket Agent flung my bag onto the conveyer belt, asking me questions only a TSA agent would ask. Didn't post my mileage, so I lost my mileage.

Never Again
- Flew to Hawaii on United. On return leg got to the airport 2.5 hrs before departure. Stood in line for 2hrs to have someone with a portable scale weigh bags, and direct me to a self serve terminal with an agent standing behind to put claim ticket on bags, then had to take our bags down to security. We ended up getting to the gate 15 minutes before boarding.

Mr. Get up and go
- I used to work for a major airline--a "legacy" airline, as a matter of fact. Having said that, I have traveled literally millions of miles, some as a non rev employee; ie, "free" travel passes, but also as a paying customer on dozens of airlines around the globe. And, without hesitation, I can honestly say that United has always been among the worst experiences. Their IATA code, UA, fits them true to form--Universally Awful! Just how they rose to the top of the heap to become one of the world's largest carriers, while always offering pitiful service, will always remain a mystery to me. Their unable to accommodate attitude and seemingly lack of care is displayed at all level of travel, regardless of the global destination. Granted, there have been enormous changes in the airline industry in the past few years, but does such change warrant this kind of indifference from employees? Eventually it is bound to compromise passenger safety. I'm glad I retired with integrity after 25 yrs!

terrible service on United!
- Right out of the blue, my flight on United was canceled. I was given no assistance to find lodging and a secondary flight home. Thank goodness for Southwestern who did help. But I am out the cost of a motel and a second plane ticket and united has failed to reimburse me.

Traveling on United
- At 60 I have traveled a lot - some on United. I don't remember anything outstandingly bad, nor outstandingly good, about United. On my last United flight I could not get a seat assignment until airport checkin - and had an uncomfortable middle seat with less than ideal travel companions, but that was the luck of the draw. I never board any flight hungry, always carry something to eat -usually nuts, a chicken salad snack pack and a power bar- and I purchase a bottle of water on the plane side of security. A lot of bad behavior can be explained by hunger. I think it is an individual to individual response more than "customer service" or "flight attendants". (However, TWA will always be my favorite as the flight attendants always were helpful, friendly and solved problems with tact, humor and finesse. (Including 18 hours snowbound on board at CDG and several instances of reseating people to sit together.) On any airline, never has my quiet request for help gone untended, even United

it was fair
- I was flying from Rome to D.C. on stand-by (you really need a better policy - the employees should be able to fly first class international). I was lucky to get in business class it was quite enjoyable, till i was sick because of the food. Other then that everything else was great.

Flight#69 / Oct. 08, 2009
- Traveled to Kauai on 10/08/09,Flt#69.It was the trip from HELL!! I had the middle seat, the woman in the aisle seat STUNK BAD and had a screaming child. I could not read or sleep.- I just completed Chemo and was going to have relaxing time on Kauai, but instead I got there PISSED OFF! My husband is Retired from Continental Airlines, but because of my medical condition, we PAID for our trip FULL FARE because I could not tolerate S/B criteria.-This was a Full Flight so there was no chance of changing seats. I have had BETTER Seat assignments too while traveling non-rev, as this time we were in Row 29. Also, when making my reservations thru' Expedia, I requested a Fruit plate, but instead, the flight ran out of "choice" sandwiches and all that was left was their vegetarian sandwich.- Got to Kauai HUNGRY! I did not bring extra food because I counted on the Fruit Platter. My Itinerary #129098436430, you can VERIFY the info I have documented. My experience has not been a good one.

Will NEVER fly United again!!!!
- This airline has proven it is incapable of the simple task of seating 2 people together, who booked tickets 3 months in advance on Expedia. We are Fiances, therefore our last names are different and they eluded to that being what may have caused the problem. THEY WERE PUCHESED ON ONE ACCOUNT BY ONE PERSON...HELLO...PROBABLLY TRAVELING TOGETHER!!! Thier EXCUSE...well you should have booked them with us instead. What!!! Are you serious...expedia booked my ticket, but you sold it to me...didn't you sell me 2 seats...did they not have numbers? Please, this is just ridiculous. I have never had such an issue with either American, Delta, or any other airline I've booked with expedia. SAD...VERY SAD.

Wanted helpful response
- I have booked a fight to New Zealaond on New Zealand Air in their Premium Ecconomy cabin which is comparable to business on United. The first leg of the flight, Washington to L.A. is on a United flight, a partner airline. United has me in their ecconomy cabin. I have tried repeatedly to find out how to upgrade to business without any success. Does anyone know how to contact someone at United who could be helpful? The question isn't on the call center's meneu and the email responses I've recieved tell me they deal with post travel issues = complaints.

Appreciate Flying on UAL
- I've made many trips on UAL. I've been lucky. I've never experienced poor service. Occasional mechanical issues - but I understand that it is in everyone's best interest if it is necessary to cancel a flight because of it, or to have to wait for a replacement plane, or to have to be rebooked. I have observed the flight attendants to be all about safety and not very friendly. I can accept that because only they know why they must behave that way. As long as they behave professionally and I get to my destination safely, their lack of friendliness is not a characteristic that affects me too much. When I travel by plane, I am there for the awesome experience of flying to someplace many miles away in less time than what it would take by foot or car. I ask very little from the attendants. I respect them and know that their jobs can be difficult if people treat them without respect and courtesy. The public, in my opinion is getting more difficult to serve, impatient and lacking compassion.
