There is so much to do on Oahu, but many of them cost quite a bit of money. Some things, however, are free (or cost less than $20 per person.) Whether it's your favorite place to drive, a great ocean experience, hike, or your favorite inexpensive attraction, I'd love to hear your picks for your favorite free, or almost free things to do on O'ahu. Ala Moana Keiki Hula Show

One of my all-time favorite free things is the young peoples hula show on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. at the Ala Moana Shopping Center show stage. We have seen it at least 3 times and will go out of our way to be there whenever we visit Oahu. Not to be missed!!

Pali Lookout update

there is now a $3.00 parking fee for non-residents at the lookout but well worth the price.

Free or inexpensive things to do?

Watch the sunsets. ON Oahu, take in the free hula show at Kuhio Beach Park nightly at dusk. It is wonderful! We also took advantage of the free preview shows at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Go to the International Marketplace. Take the time to stop and visit with the store vendors, stop and watch the candle dipping, watch folks shop for pearls in the Oysters. For $14.99, you can choose an oyster and see what surprise awaits you. We got a chocolate pearl in one, as well as a set of black twin pearls! Ride the pineapple train at Dole Plantation and go through the maze. Have a shave ice. Sit and look at the beautiful water at the beaches. We stopped at most of them, if for nothing more than a good look and a picture. Hawwaii (all islands) is so beautiful that you can enjuoy yourself just by driving around the islands and looking! On Maui, go to LaPerouse Bay. It is the best thing on Maui, in my humble opinion. Been to Maui twice and unless I win a trip, I won't go go back.

North Shore drive or Chinatowne

I would spend every minute up at the North Shore if I had to choose, but I also enjoy Chinatowne and all the different things they have there to look at. You can get a decent meal for a few dollars, but it is like a field trip...then I would go back to the North Shore. Just a hippie at heart.
